Q

wandering atrial pacemaker

A

benign rhythm

pacemaker shifts between SA and AV node.

P haves are sometimes inverted.

Q

junctional escape beat

A

beat right after prolonged pause. looks just like junctional premature complex but happens after pause. normal QRS, inverted or absent P wave.

15
Q

re-entrant rhythms

A

disorder of impulse transmission. re-entrant circuit is when a signal travels via a different pathway because normal pathway isn’t conducting quickly enough. often due to damage by ischemia or fibrosis.

16
Q

four questions to ask yourself to determine if arrhythmia is present

A
  1. normal P waves?
  2. QRS complexes narrow?
  3. is there a P for each QRS?
  4. is the rhythm regular?
17
Q

supraventricular arrhythmias

A
  1. atrial premature beat
  2. junctional premature beat
  3. paroxysmal supraventricular tachy
  4. atrial flutter
  5. atrial fibrillation
  6. multifocal atrial tachycardia
  7. paroxysmal atrial tachy
