ECG part 3 Flashcards
(8 cards)
How is cardiac hypertrophy determined?
looking at voltage in V1 and V5
With R ventricular hypertrophy what happens to the R wave in V1, V2, V3, and V4?
V1 = large
V2-4 = progressively smaller
With L ventricular hypertrophy, what happens to the wave in V1 and V5 and what is the combined voltage?
V1 = large S wave
V5 = large R wave
voltage > 35mV
If the patient is experiencing ischemia what will the T wave look like?
inverted
ST depression at rest in presence of chest pain
subendocardial infarction
ST depression in absence of ischemia or angina
digitalis toxicity
ST elevation/depression or presence of significant Q wave
diagnostic for acute infarction
ST segment depression leads to what 3 things?
T wave inversion
ST segment changes
Q waves ID location of ischemia, injury, or infarction
