Q

What is nutrients cycling?

A

Nutrients are recycled like when an animal eats an organism and then the animal dies the nutrients are returned to the ecosystem

10
Q

What is energy flowing through an ecosystem?

A

sun gives energy. plants receive it. animal eats plant. animal releases energy. Not recycled.

15
Q

Why are decomposers important in an ecosystem?

A

They eat dead plants and animals, release the nutrients back into the environment

16
Q

what is a trophic pyramid?

A

It is different trophic levels. Like producers, primary consumers and secondary consumers

17
Q

why is a trophic pyramid shaped the way it is in terms of energy availability?

A

Because there’s more producers than primary consumers etc. Energy is lost with each trophic level. Therefore, there’s more energy at the bottom of the pyramid.
