Describe hyperinflation.
Reparations combined with war debt led the Weimar government to print their own money which led to hyper inflation
Devastated many Germans; especially middle classes who’s savings were wiped out

How did the nazis exploit hyperinflation and what support did it gain?
Used this to win support from those who had suffered
Promised to keep savings safe and inflation low

Dawes and young plan were negotiated to help rebuild Germany
Fatally linked the German economy to that of the USA
Wall Street crash, 1929, German economy collapsed, prices rised and unemployment
How did hitter exploit the Wall Street crash and how did this gain support?
Hitler claimed Germany would be self sufficient
Create full employment
Appealed to nationalists and business community as they didn’t want Germany to rely on other countries
However during the economic crisis support for other parties such as the KPD rose showing that a lot of Germans still did not support the nazis
Describe the brunings budget.
Brunings budget made government employees and the unemployed suffer dreadfully
Benefits and salaries were cut whilst taxes increased and state spending was drastically reduced
