A classification tool. It can be used to classify organisms based on similarities and differences in the physical characteristics.

Helps explain relationships, and organizes groups

Makes its own food.
EX: plants, algae

Organism that eat to get their energy
EX: human, animals

Mushroom/ mold
Fungi
Breakdown dead organisms
EX: bacteria, fungi

Where an animal lives
Habitat
Animals need this for survival. Two types: structural and behavioral
Adaptations
An adaptation that is physically made
Example: web feet, long beak, keen eyesight, strong legs
Structural
Second type of adaptation
Example: flying, hopping, burying food, loud hiss, purring
