What is an ecosystem?
An ecosystem is a community of plants and animals living together in a habitat. The lives of the plants and animals are closely linked to each other and their climate and soil of the area that they live in. Larger ecosystems are called biomes.
What is a producer?
A producer is an organism that uses the energy from the sun to produce food.
What is a consumer?
A consumer is an organism that gets its energy by eating other organisms (producers or other consumers)
What is a decomposer?
A decomposer is an organism that gets energy from breaking down or eating dead materials.
What are the 7 biomes on Earth?
Tundra, Coniferous Forest (taiga), temperate deciduous forest, desert, savannah grassland, tropical rainforest and temperate grassland.
What are the 4 layers of a tropical rainforest?
Emergent layer, canopy layer, understory layer and forest floor.
What makes it a tropical rainforest?
Rain, lack of season, hot, humid, located between the two tropics.
