Q

Dealing with PTSD on Station.

A

It’s OK, NOT to be OK.

Appropriate description: it’s like being chained to a wild animal, every day, 24-7.Some days, you beat the animal back, keep it at bay and survive & you feel good & get some sleep BUT when you wake up again, the following morning (Guess What) ……you are still chained to a wild animal!

PTSD is a medical condition - NOT something wrong with you.
When Talking about PTSD for the 1st time, use open questions “How are you doing? Come & talk to me in a quite place 1 to 1”
DON’T USE closed question like - “Are u ok?”
Or single response YES/NO answers

Be empathetic - explain what happened to me.
