Describe in summary series circuits
The current is the same at all points in the circuit Voltage is shared across components The total resistance of a number of resistors in this circuit is equal to the sum of all the individual resistances Adding a resistor increases the total resistance because electric charge has to pass through another component

Describe in summary the parallel circuit
-The current spilts at a junction -Voltage of the battery and branches are the same -When resistors are connected in this circuit they have the same potential difference across them -The total resistance value will always be less then the smallest individual resistor in the combination -Adding a resistor would decrease the total resistance because you are providing an alternate path(that’s easier) for the electric charge

How is coal firmed
Coal is formed from dead plants have been buried in mud for millions of years. This forms peat which turns into coal over time as more water and air are squeezed out due to the huge pressure of the layers of rock building up on top.

How is oil formed
-Oil is formed from the remains of plankton(small animals) that lived in the sea millions of years ago. -The dead plankton are covered by mud on the seafloor and slowly change into oil trapped between layers of rock. -This change happens due to the action of heat and microbes.

-Natural gas is fine underground often in the same place as oil -A mixture of gases make up ‘ natural gas’ -It is mainly made up of methane gas

-Fuel is burned to boil water at a high pressure -The boiling water produces superheated steam -the Superheated steam turns a turbine -The turbine rotates a magnet in the generator -The rotating magnet generates electricity
