Describe an experiment for the resistivity of a wire

A
  1. Measure diameter of wire with microbe meter and calculate cross sectional area
  2. Set up circuit with ammeter in series with wire, and voltmeter in parallel. Plus a switch
  3. Vary the wire length recording voltage and current for each
  4. Repeat this three times for each length
  5. Calculate length with averages taken using V=IR
  6. Plot resistance against length
  7. gradient gives resistivity / cross sectional are so thus calculate resistivity
