Electricty Part 3 Flashcards
(6 cards)
What are the other names for the brown,blue and green/yellow wires?
Blue: NEUTRAL wire, positioned on the left
Green/Yellow: EARTH wire, positioned on the middle top
Brown: live wire, positioned in the right next to the fuse. It carries the mains voltage(230V).It is dangerous
What are some important points for the wires?
-The fuse must be of the correct value
-Not damage the insulation,the live wire can’t touch the earth and neutral wires
-The wires should have the correct length
-Firm cord grip
What is the voltage of each appliance in our house?
230 V which is the mains voltage
Which formula do we use to calculate the fuse rating?
Power=current x voltage
What happens if the current flowing in the circuit,is bigger than the fuse rating?
Th fuse will melt,breaking the circuit so the current stops flowing, preventing the appliance from getting damaged.
Would the wire be more thick on a fuse rating of 5A or 30 A?
30A
