Q

What is capillary blanching? Home care advice

A
  • Whitening of tissue at the follicle mouth, extreme blanching may cause skin to lift or stick to the needle.

-Incorrect insertion preventing blood flow through capillaries in the area. Shallow insertion or intensity to high or release to long are factors for a blanch to occur

-if serious, stop treatment, advise client not to pick any scabs should they occur.

17
Q

What is the cause and appearance of scabs?
Homecare

A
  • Brown hyperpigmented, crusty lesion may vary in size dependent on the area.

-Over treatment, tissue damage has taken place which can be from shallow insertion, current too high or release time missed.

-do not pick, gently cleanse and moisturise, scab will come off in 14 days
