The sequence of events that make up a story

Introduces the setting, character, and conflict of a story
rising action
The plot gets more complicated; leads up to climax
Climax
the point of highest interest or suspense of a story, the turning point of a story
Resolution
the loose ends are tired up and the story comes to a close

the perspective from which the story is told
