  • England had alliance with Spain in a war against France and had lost .morale was low.
  • Mary’s marriage to King Philip II of Spain was so unpopular that led to a rebellion.
  • England’s finances were poor and so many of its people which made the have bad harvest which led to poverty, hunger and disease.
