A

Dealt with all policly areas. Led by the secetary of state. There were many powerful Privy Councilers that had alot of power over Elizabeth ( William Cecil and Francis Walshingham)

A

He nearly drew his sword on his queen after she slapped him. Elizabeth stopped his sweet wine monopoly losing his wealth.

What happened during the Essex Rebellion ?

A

February 1601, Essex took 4 privy councillor’s hostage and marched them to his house including 200 supporters.- Robert Cecil labelled him a traitor, loads of his supported left.
- The remaining follows and Essex himself were arrested.

What were some consequences of the Essex Rebellion?
Essex was sentenced to death. Executed in private in 1601 February Elizabeth made it clear that she did not allow challenges to her reign.
