French advantages:

  • This meant French troops were stationed in Scotland.

A
  • England had held it for hundreds of years
  • Great military value and trading outpost.
  • Humiliated England to lose it, as they had owned it.

This results in:

  • Currency being weaker.
  • Products cost more.
  • Foreigners don’t trust English currency.
