Indications for Epinephrine
- Cardiac arrest
- Anaphylaxis
- Severe asthma
Adult dose of Epinephrine for cardiac arrest
1 mg IV/IO every 3–5 min (1:10,000)
Adult dose of Epinephrine for anaphylaxis
0.3–0.5 mg IM (1:1,000)
Pediatric dose of Epinephrine for cardiac arrest
0.01 mg/kg IV/IO every 3–5 min (1:10,000)
Pediatric dose of Epinephrine for anaphylaxis
0.01 mg/kg IM (max 0.3 mg) (1:1,000)
Class of Atropine
Anticholinergic
Indications for Atropine
Symptomatic bradycardia
Adult dose of Atropine
0.5 mg IV every 3–5 min (max 3 mg)
Pediatric dose of Atropine
0.02 mg/kg IV/IO
Minimum and maximum doses of Atropine
Minimum dose: 0.1 mg; Max single dose: 0.5 mg (child), 1 mg (adolescent)
Key notes for Atropine
Ineffective in high-degree AV block with wide QRS
Class of Amiodarone
Antiarrhythmic
Indications for Amiodarone
VF/pulseless VT, stable VT
Adult dose of Amiodarone for arrest
300 mg IV push, then 150 mg IV if needed
Pediatric dose of Amiodarone
5 mg/kg IV bolus (max 300 mg per dose)
Key notes for Amiodarone
Use after defibrillation and epinephrine in arrest
Class of Adenosine
Antiarrhythmic
Indications for Adenosine
Stable SVT
Adult dose of Adenosine
6 mg IV push, then 12 mg if needed
Pediatric dose of Adenosine
0.1 mg/kg IV push (max 6 mg), then 0.2 mg/kg (max 12 mg)
Route for Adenosine administration
IV rapid push
Key notes for Adenosine
May cause brief asystole; not for AFib/flutter
Class of Naloxone (Narcan)
Opioid antagonist
Indications for Naloxone
Opioid overdose
