What is a full time employee?
Someone who is contracted to work a specific period of time.
Advantages of full time employees?
Higher output is available because they can be asked to do overtime.
Available all the time to handle unexpected circumstances.
Better working relationship with each other.
Disadvantages of full time employees?
High costs of employing lots of staff, full time.
Might not be as flexible.
What is a part time employee?
One who works only part time, e.g. only 3 days a week.
Advantages of part time employees?
Flexibility
Can be used when it is particually busy
Job sharing
Disadvantages of part time employees?
Might be more difficult to access training
Less able to build relationships with colleagues.
What are temporary employees?
One who is employed for a fixed period of time. Often these workers are seasonal workers and may work full time or part time.
What are consultants?
Businesses or individuals who provide professional advice or services for a fee. Often the advice is on how to make the small business more successful or to deal with a specific problem.
