The drum major executes an eyes right and salutes
After clearing the reviewing area, the band is marched 30 paces from the reviewing area, center on and facing the reviewing officer

What does a parade consist of?
a. Pre-parade serenade by the band.
b. Forming the staff, and posting the adjutant.
c. March on and formation of the command (forming without a march on is
optional).
d. Trooping the colors if appropriate for the type of ceremony.
e. “Sound Off” and trooping the line by the band.
f. The manual of arms.
g. Receiving reports and publishing orders by the adjutant.
h. Officers center.
i. Presentation of the command and honors to the reviewing officer.
j. Presentation of awards, promotions, retirements, changes of command,
relief and appointment of the sergeant major, etc.
k. March in review.
When does the pre-serenade begin with the band?
15 minutes prior
Where does the band move 5 minutes prior to the start of the parade?
the band moves to it’s position right of the line countermarches and halts
When is the invocation given?
at the begining
What happens when the adjutant commands “Sound Off”?
The band sounds off, marches down the line of troops, countermarches, marches back down the line of troops and returns to its position in formation

Commander of troops commands “Forward March”

Any special music required and the marines hymn
Can a march in review or parade be omitted?
yes especially if there is limited space for maneuvering
