To protect the endometrium, progesterone is added — in this case, as Utrogestan (micronised progesterone).

Are modified release iron recommend in IDA
Modified-release (MR) iron formulations are not routinely recommended for treating iron deficiency anaemia because they release iron slowly throughout the gastrointestinal tract, bypassing the duodenum and proximal jejunum—where iron is best absorbed. This leads to reduced and unpredictable absorption, resulting in a slower and less effective correction of iron deficiency. Additionally, MR formulations do not significantly reduce gastrointestinal side effects compared to standard-release iron salts. For these reasons, standard-release preparations such as ferrous sulfate are preferred for more reliable and effective treatment.
27
