tousle
(v) to make someone’s hair untidy, for example by rubbing it . e.g. She tousled her niece’s hair, and went out.
baffle
莫名其妙的 to cause someone to be completely unable to understand or explain something . e.g. She was completely baffled by his strange behaviour.

immaculate
perfectly clean or tidy e.g. dressed in an immaculate white suit

fusion
融合 an occasion when two or more things join or are combined e.g. Their music is described as “an explosive fusion of Latin American and modern jazz rhythms”.

嗡嗡聲 (especially of machines) to make a low, soft, continuous sound e.g. I could hear the washing machine whirring in the kitchen.

stop short of sth
If you stop short of doing or saying something, you decide not to do or say it although you almost do e.g. I stopped short of telling him the brutal truth.
