These final images reflect the hopelessness of both McCaig and his loved ones situation he has gone through a transformative journey during visiting hour – cycled through shock burst of grief anger and now hopelessness at this terrible state of his love one. There are painful reminder of the fragility of life, McCaig visit encourages him – and us – to adapt a greater appreciation of life itself through his potent despair.
