Does your name have any special meaning?
Yes, my name was given by my grandfather to celebrate the winning against Chinese invaders of emperor Quang Trung – a great hero in Vietnam’s history.
Why do so many people change their names?
I think that there are many reasons why people change or want to change their names. Maybe they are a big fan of a singer, a fiction on novel and they want to be called by their idol’s name. Or it’s because of superstition. In Vietnam, many people think that changing their names will bring luckiness.
Is your name important to you?
Yes. To me, my name is very important.My parents gave me name of a hero in Vietnam’s history - emperor Quang Trung with a wish that I could become a great man like him. I’m aware of my family’s expection so I always try my best.
Where do you come from?
I come from Vietnam, a Southeast Asia country. However, I’m living and stuying in Munich.
Where do you live?
Now I’m living in Dachau, a small city on the south of Munich.
Can you tell me something about your hometown?
My hometown is very far from Germany. It’s Hanoi – the capital of Vietnam, a city with many beautiful places, such as Sword Lake, West Lake or Long Bien bridge and a lot of great dishes like Phở, Bánh cuốn (rolls cake).
Can you tell me some famous landscapes or scenic spots in your hometown?
My hometown has many landscapes and scenic spots and it’s too hard for me to tell you. However, if you had a chance to visit Hanoi, you should go to Sword lake – the heart of my little Hanoi, Long Bien bridge which was built by the same architec as Effel Tower.
Can you tell me some history of your hometown?
I will tell you the original name of my hometown. In 1010, Hanoi was called Flying Dragon because when the King travelled to this city, he saw cloud formed a Dragon shape.

Are you a student or do you have a job?
Well. For a moment, I’m a German language student. My plan is spending 1 year studying this language and seeking for a master course taught in German or English.
What do you like most about your study?
Thing I like the most about my study is that I have the opportunities to master a new language with a great culture behind and study in a class with many international students.
What kind of job do you prefer after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to apply for Marketing manager or team leader in a IT or digital advertising company because I had some experience from my old workplace.
What is your major? What do you do for living?
Currently I’m only studying German without any part-time job here. Thanks to my own and family’s saving, I can pay for the tuition and other expenses.However, this is just a short break so as to accumulate knowledge and cultural understanding. My goal is running a company in Vietnam with customers from all over the world, especially Europeans.
Could you tell me a typical day of yours?
Everyday, I get up with the chickens, do some mini exercise and start surfing Internet for news or working emails. After some regular activities, I will go to school and then take a short nap. On the second half of day, I study at home, run for 2-3 km and hang out with friends.My day is quite typical and very peaceful.
How do you get your job?
I will tell you how did I get my previous job because now I’m here only to study. Last year, I worked as a Online Marketing assistant in an Software Outsourcing Company in Vietnam called “SmartOSC”. I once had come to this company to present a product and the CEO got interested so he asked me to work with him. After a careful consideration, I accepted.This is the way I got this job.

What do you like most about your job?
The most thing I like about my previous job is international environment. Although this is a Vietnamese company, there are some young foreigners. We had many different views about a problem, sometimes because of the differences in culture. However, we always find good solutions and learn something new from each other.I’ve been more mature, more professional thanks to this job.
