What two informations do you need to be able to enlarge a picture?
You need to know the SCALE FACTOR & CENTRE OF ENLARGEMENT.
What is a scale factor?
Support your answer with a example.
A scale factor is the number that you have to enlarge that picture by.
Example: Enlarge this picture by 2.
➡️ 2 is the scale factor.
How do you enlarge a image? Write step by step what you have to do.
(There should be about 5 steps).
1) Have a look at what is the scale factor.
2) See where the centre of enlargement is positioned.
3) Mesure the distance between the corners of the shape and the centre of enlargement.
4) Report that mesurement as many times as needed (depending on what the scale factor is)
5) Re-draw the image by connecting the dots.
What other method could you use to enlarge rectangles or squares?
You could calculate the area of the rectangle/square, then multiply by the scale factor.
