Asbestos
A fibrous material that was used in building materials as insulation. Asbestos fibers can cause cancer and other lung diseases.
Radon
An invisible, odorless gas that occurs naturally from the earth. It is estimated that over 20,000 deaths are caused by radon each year.
Urea Formaldehyde
Urea formaldehyde foam insulation (UFFI) was a popular insulation in the 1970's. It was temporarily banned in the U.S. but the band was lifted.
Lead
Lead can be found naturally in soil. Lead can also be found in water and in paint. Children may accidently eat particles with lead in it and get lead poisoning.
Carbon Monoxide
Colorless, odorless gas. It is a by-product of combustion gas, propane and oil burning appliances. Carbon monoxide is absorbed by the body the same as oxygen, it replaces the oxygen and can cause death.
Termites
Termites are by far the most dangerous insect that can attack a home.
Abatement
Asbestos control beyond a special operations and maintenance program.
Pests
Household pets range from mice to raccoons. Not all pests will be identified during a home inspection.
