Where did Batucada Samba begin

A

In the Favelas shanty towns built on the hillside in Rio de Janeiro in the early 20th century. Samba schools used percussion instruments to create fast, polyrhythmic, syncopated rhythms which are still used today for carnivals and festivals alongside Samba dancing.
