HYD

FAILURE OF HYD SYSTEM… DISENGAGE AP

a. FLIGHT:

  • Adjust Airspeed
  • Hydraulic pressure switch – Off
  • Shallow approach
  • Run-on landing (low speed)
  • Engine shut down

b. HOVER:

  • Land normally
  • Engine shut down

Light illuminates below 30 bar

MGB P

  • Power – REDUCE
  • Land as soon as possible

Light illuminates below 1 bar

MGB T

  • Warning / Caution panel – TEST

 

a. If MGB P light does not illuminate:

  • Land as soon as possible

b. If MGB P light illuminates:

  • Land as soon as practical

Light illuminates at 115 °C

BAT T

-BAT – OFF

-Land as soon as Possible

 

Light illuminates above 71° C

ENG P

  • Power – REDUCE
  • Oil pressure indicator - CHECK

a. Low or zero: read torque meter:

  • If low – Shut down the engine
  • If correct – Land immediately

b. If both pressure and torque correct:

          Land as soon as possible

Light illuminates below 1,3 bar

GEN

  • Voltage – check
  • GEN – ON
  • GEN – RESET

If unsuccessful

  • Electrical load – REDUCE
  • Continue flight – MONITOR voltage

BAT

  • BAT - ON
  • Continue flight – MONITOR voltage

LIMIT

  • Power - REDUCE

HORN

  • HORN pushbutton - ON

PITOT

  • PITOT – ON
  • Airspeed indicator - MONITOR

ENG CHIP

  • Monitor ENG oil pressure
  • Land as soon as possible

MGB CHIP

  • Power – REDUCE
  • Monitor MGB P and MGB T lights
  • Land as soon as practical

TGB CHIP

  • Avoid prolonged hovering
  • Land as soon as practical

FUEL

  • Avoid large attitude changes

FUEL F

  • PWR – REDUCE
    1. If light goes out:
      • Continue flight at reduced PWR
    2. If light remains on:
      • Land as soon as possible

FUEL P

  • Booster pumps – ON
  • Continue flight below 5000’

Light illuminates below 0,2 bar

ENGINE FAILURE IN FLIGHT

  • Autorotate
  • Twist grip – FUEL CUT OFF
  • Engine – RELIGHT (pilots discretion)

Switch off:

  • Fuel shut off lever
  • Booster pumps
  • Generator
  • Inverter
  • Battery (direct battery)

ENGINE FAILURE IN HOVER IGE

  • Maintain collective
  • Cushion touch down

ENGINE FAILURE OGE

  • Reduce collective pitch
  • Gain airspeed if possible
  • Cushion touch down

RELIGHT OF ENGINE IN FLIGHT

  • Booster pumps – ON
  • GEN – ON
  • NG below 30% before normal starting procedure

GOVENOR FAILURE

LOW SIDE

  • Autorotate
  • Twist grip – EMERGENCY range
  • Engine speed – 70% NG
  • Coll. pitch – INCREASE NR 350 RPM
  • Fuel flow – INCREASE NR 380 RPM
  • TRIM Collective/twist grip – LEVEL FLIGHT

GOVENOR FAILURE

 HIGH SIDE

  • Do not reduce collective pitch
  • Fuel flow – REDUCE (NR green limit)
  • Continue flight (governor out of action)
  • Twist grip – ADJUST (during landing phase)

SURGING

  • Change collective pitch setting

If surging persists:

  • Reduce fuel flow to leave governed range

If surging persists:  - Land as soon as possible

ENGINE FIRE

DURING STARTING

  • Twist grip – FUEL CUT OFF
  • Fuel shut off lever – CLOSE
  • Rotor brake – APPLY
  • Booster pumps – OFF
  • Engine – Crank (10 sec)
  • BAT – OFF (direct battery – off)
  • Extinguish fire

IN FLIGHT

  • Autorotate
  • Twist grip – FUEL CUT OFF
  • Fuel shut off lever – CLOSE
  • Booster pumps – OFF
  • GEN – OFF
  • INV – OFF
  • BAT – OFF
  • Direct battery – OFF

SMOKE IN CABIN

SMOKE IDENTIFIED

  • Shut off corresponding system
  • If necessary – use fire extinguisher
  • Ventilate cabin

SMOKE NOT IDENTIFIED

  • Heating / demisting systems – OFF

If smoke does not clear:

  • All electrical systems – OFF
  • Essential equipment – RESET, pilots discretion
  • Land as soon as practical

TAIL ROTOR DRIVE FAILURE

HOVER OR LOW SPEED

IGE:

  • Twist grip – IDLE
  • Cushion touch down

 

OGE:

  • Reduce collective moderately
  • Pick up speed

TAIL ROTOR DRIVE FAILURE

IN FLIGHT

  • Reduce power – Maintain speed
  • Landing area – SELECT (steep approach)
  • On final – Fuel shut off
  • Autorotate (lowest speed)

TAIL ROTOR CONTROL FAILURE

  • Level flight – 70 KTS
  • HYD TST – PRESS for 5 sec
  • HYD TST – RESET
  • Shallow approach (side slip left)
  • Run–on landing
