2. There is no medical practitioner on board
3. PAC is over 30kgs in weight unless directed by a medical professional

Yellow pouch of the physicians kit in the overhead lockers or 4R

Question 4

Explain and demonstrate the use of the epipen

Answer 4

1. Carefully tilt and slide the epipen out of its protective covering
2. Check contents through the viewing window and end user the solution is clear/ colourless
3. Hold the epipen in your fist
4. Caution do not hold the orange End
5. Place orange to the thigh. Blue to the sky- remove the blue safety cap
6. Push orange end firmly into the middle thigh until a click is heard
7. Hold firmly for 3 secs
8. Once administered check the viewing window is obscured- epi has worked

Once administered what actions need to occur

1. Notify flight care
2. Record time of administration on medical report form
3. Monitor closely

1. place epipen back into tis original plastic case
2. Label it used with a red tag
3. Put back in physicians kit
4. Note this on the items used tag
