LI 16
LI 16
In the depression in the muscular groove between the cleidomastoideus portion of the brachiocephalicus and omotransversarius mm., just cranial to the subclavius m., ventral to the cervical vertebral column (approximately C6-7).
REGULATES QI AND BLOOD, SHOULDER AND CD CERVICAL PAIN
LI 17
LI 17
In the depression in the muscular groove between the cleidomastoideus portion of the brachiocephalicus and the omotransversarius mm., cranioventral to the cervical vertebral column (approximately C5-6).
ELIMINATES PHLEGM, LARYNGEAL PROBLEMS, CD CERVICAL PAIN
LI 18
LI 18
In the depression on the cranioventral border of the cleidomastoideus portion of the brachiocephalicus m., in an area cranioventral to the junction of the 2nd and 3rd cervical vertebrae, dorsal to the jugular vein. Some authors use the junction of a line that runs parallel to the ventral aspect of the mandible, and its intersection with the cervical vertebral column (with the head extended).
RESOLVES PHLEGM, LARYNGEAL PROBLEMS, CHRONIC LOWER FORELIMB PAIN
LI 20
LI 20
In the depression in the nasolabial groove, just dorsocaudal to the dorsal tip of the cornu of the alar cartilage.
DISPELS WIND, WIND-HEAT, AND WIND-COLD, OPENS NASAL PASSAGES, RHINITIS, SINUSITIS, EPISTAXIS
ST 1
ST1
In the depression at the intersection of the medial and middle thirds of the lower eyelid (superficial location), with the deeper location between the infraorbital ridge and globe.
EXPELS INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL WIND, CLEARS HEAT FROM EYE, CONJUNCTIVITIS, ETC.
SAN JIANG
SAN JIANG (Three Streams, TCVM, Old IVAS ST 2) (also in Traditional Points) IVAS Location: In the depression rostroventral to the medial canthus of the eye, just caudal to the bifurcation of the angularis oculi (angular) vein. TCVM Location: Rostroventral to the medial canthus of the eye, at the bifurcation of the angularis oculi (angular) vein. This point is traditionally bled.
DISPELS WIND AND HEAT, COLIC
ST 2
ST2
In the depression overlying the infraorbital foramen. The infraorbital nerve is deep to this point.
EXPELS EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL WIND FROM EYE, CONJUNCTIVITIS, TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA, ETC.
ST 4
ST4
In the depression caudodorsal to the commissure of the mouth, on the caudal edge of the orbicularis oris m.
EXPELS EXTERIOR WIND, FACIAL PARALYSIS, TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA, BLEPHAROSPASM
ST 7
ST7

ST 35
ST 35 (Lateral XIYAN, Lateral Eye of the Knee) In the large depression ventral to the ventral border of the patella and between the middle and lateral patellar ligaments. ST 35 and medial XIYAN together make up the traditional point, XIYAN (Knee Eyes).
EXPELS COLD, DAMP, STIFLE PAIN AND ARTHRITIS
ST 36
ST 36 (Master Point of Abdomen and Gastrointestinal System) In the depression just lateral to the tibial crest, in the muscular groove between the tibialis cranialis and long digital extensor mm., 2 cun distal to the proximal edge of the tibial crest. An alternate location would be as in the canine, which puts it in the middle of the muscle belly of the tibialis cranialis, but due to the lack of acceptance by the horse, the above location is used. The direction of needle insertion for this point is craniolateral to caudomedial, while that for the alternate point is cranial to caudal; thus both insertions arrive at the same point.
