Q

Each transaction will cause a decrease in stockholders equity except?

A

Things to remember:

Stockholders’ equity consists of several components, including contributed capital (eg, preferred and common stock, APIC), retained earnings, accumulated other comprehensive income, and treasury stock (a contra account to equity). If accounted for under the cost method, the sale(reissued) of treasury stock at less than cost will always result in an overall increase in stockholders’ equity.
