Q

Systematic errors

A

that cause the same incorrect result each time.

  • These results are PRECISE but not ACCURATE – they give the same inaccurate result each time
These can be reduced by calibrating instruments (or replacing/repairing faulty ones)

Q

Random Errors:

A

Unpredictable errors that differ each time a measurement is taken.

  • These results are NOT precise and not accurate.
Random errors can be reduced by replicating experiments, testing a bigger sample size or using a
more accurate instrument or method to take measurements
