Convinces readers of validity of writers POV and is developed through logic

Reflective
Written about the significance of an event. Personal experience/ perspective
Descriptive
Describes a person. place or event. Uses many describing words, imagery and illustrations
Expository
Explains a theory or a phenomenon to inform a reader
Used often in history and science
Narrative
Narrates a story, tells a story in a sequence of events
Persuasive
Convince reader to take action through emotional appeals
Blends facts and logic
Thesis=propositional statment
propositional language used like should, must and have to

a comparison made between something unfamiliar to something familiar to better understand something.
