Jasper Jones (Silvey, 2009) is a bildungsroman based in rural Western Australia during the 1960s.
Intro- summary
Jasper Jones, the towns outcast, asks charlie bucktin, a bookish 13 year old boy to help him, together they try to find the murderer of Laura Wishart.
Introduction- understanding of the question
-elaborate on the main things the question is asking you to write about- character, setting, theme, idea and attitude
intro- paragraphs
- clearly state the 3 ideas you will be presenting, 1 for each body paragraph
- not aslong as a topic sentence- briefer
Body paragraph x 3- topic sentence
- introduce what you will be writing about in this paragraph
- say the main theme/idea/character etc in more detail
- say what specific language features help to show this

- linking back to the question
body paragraph x 3- evidence
- include a quote that provides evidence for your argument and provide context ( what is going on in the book when this quote is said)

- analysis and explanation, explain how the evidence supports the question and your argument- what you are trying to prove- EG- how small towns can be racist
Body paragraph x3- concluding
conclude the paragraph by linking back to the question and breifly summarising you point- eg– this symbolism is effective to show the scapegoating of jasper jones

restate your argument about the question

reiterate the ideas you discussed, don’t be repetitive and say the same thing as introduction
