(10) Basic Principles of Nuremberg Code
Voluntary consent is essential,
Experiment should yield fruitful results for good of society and be necessary,
Experiment should be designed that the anticipated results will justify performing the experiment,
Avoid all unnecessary suffering and injury
No experiments with known death or disabling to occur
Risk not to exceed benefit/importance of issue
Proper preparations to protect subjects against risk
Only performed by qualified persons
Subject can leave any time
Investigator must be willing to terminate if risk becomes too high
