what are ethical implications?
A
The CONSEQUENCES of any research studies in terms of effects on PARTICIPANTS or in which certain groups of people are regarded, and consequences of WIDER society.

what is social sensitivity?
A
Socially sensitive research is studies in which there are POTENTIAL consequences or implications either for the PARTICIPANTS in the research or for the individuals which the research REPRESENTS.

3 ways to avoid bad consequences of SSR are:
A
- Research questions: be careful with the way you phrase questions as it may influence the way in which findings are interpreted.
- Dealing with participants: informed consent, confidentiality and psych harm are important.
- The way the findings are used: consider in advance how research findings may be used as it may impact on what data to collect. Some findings on research may be giving scientific credence to existing PREJUDICES.
