Categorical Imperative
Any proposition that declares a certain kind of action or inaction to be nessary
Ethics
Behavior based on adopted attitudes and beliefs of what is right or wrong or values and judgments about good and evil
The study of how you judge those behaviors

Discern-find the facts not assumptions
Declare-tell the truth even if it will hurt you or someone else
Do-do what is right after you discern and declare
Three R s
Rules-guidance of making decisions taking actions and modeling behaviors
Results-outcome-bottom line, the consequences of following or not following rules
Realities-results of recognizing the importance of the situation by adhering to the guiding ethnic codes and principles

Principle-telling the truth. Honor
Purpose-mission accomplishment and duty
People-Airmen

Owing-you owe gratitude to your country, family, service,chain of command and comrades
Ordering-proper structuring and ethical priorities
Oughting-something you expect to happen- is it necessary? Or would it be a good thing? Do what you ought to do
Values
Core beliefs you hold regarding right and fair in terms of our actions and interactions with others
Morals
Values that are attributed to a system of beliefs that help define right and wrong. Good/Bad
Military Ethics
Specifically deal with values and expected rules of the profession that are appropriate actions taken within the military environment
Ethical Relativism
Belief that nothing is objectively right or wrong
Depends on prevailing view of a particular individual, culture, or historical period
Ethical Leadership
Knowing your core values and having the courage to live by them
Ethical Dilemma
Someone is forced to choose between two alternates that can be unfavorable

Making decisions based on personal values/beliefs rather than on military rules, regs, and codes of conduct
