Definition of Ethnocentrism
Tendency to judge other cultures by the standards of your own
What makes a study ethnocentric?
- SIngle culture sample
- Biased materials to 1 culture e.g. tests in English
- Findings assuming 1 culture is superior
What makes a study NOT ethnocentric?
- Biological
- Cross cultural
- Has been replicated cross culturally

=> Social norms vary between cultures
