What is an affidavit?
A
A witness statement sworn under oath before an authorised person, rather than just verified with a statement of truth

A
The person making an affidavit

What is a jurat?
A
Statement at the end of the document which authenticates the affidavit

What must a jurat be?
A
- Signed by all deponents
- Be completed and signed by the person before whom the affidavit was sworn
- Contain full address of person whom affidavit was sworn in front of
- Be on same page, not separate page
