LEAVE straps connected on folded length and proceed as follows (photo 1):

A

remove protective covering from male butts

  • nozzle FF connects LEAD LENGTH and second length
  • B/U FF connects hose butts - 2nd and 3rd length
  • Control fF- connects Inline pressure gauge and hose line to standpipe outlet
  • now, disengage straps
  • CONNECT on landing below standpipe outlet (5th floor fire, connect on 4th FLOOR LANDING)

ALL HOSELINES stretched from Standpipe outlet should be ?

A

2 1/2” hose with controlling nozzle 1 1/8” MST

  • ALL hoselines connected to outlets on floors below the fire floor
  • Variations from stretching initial hoselines from standpipe outlets on floor below the fire due to building, should be placed in CIDS
  • if PRD is found it SHOULD BE REMOVED (if PRD cannot be removed AND there is no other outlet available..use outlet)
  • always connect Inline gauge—PRESSURE GAUGES SHALL NOT BE PRE CONNECTED TO HOSE (new )
  • controlling nozzle must ALWAYS be carried attached to lead length

OBSERVE Color of Standpipe siamese OR OUTLET CAPS and indicating signs or plates before connecting hose lines:

A

Red- Standpipe
Automatic Sprinkler- Green
Non- Automatic Sprinkler -Aluminum
Combination Standpipe/Sprinkler -YELLOW

-if building has standpipe and sprinklered, ENGINE FIRST ARRIVE MUST CONNECT FIRST LINE TO STANDPIPE
Before water is started, member controlling SUPPLY must PERSONALLY check connection of hose to proper siamese

ANOTHE pumper must augment standpipe or sprinkler supply

-exposed male butts on folded lengths must always be protected- folded length= butts towards body
