What is a Case-control study?
Compares histories of a group of people with a condition to those without the condition.
What is a Case-Sectional Study?
Detailed histories of a small number of individual cases.
What is a Cohort study?
Follows a group of people to track risk factors and outcomes over time.
What is a Cross-Sectional Study?
Assesses the prevalence or an outcome in a broad population over a period of time.
What is a Quasi-Experiment Study?
Non-randomly assigned groups of patients receive a treatment, and another group of patients receives a placebo.
What is a Randomized-Controlled Trial Study?
Randomly selects a group of patients to receive a treatment and another group of patients to receive a placebo.
What is a Syetemic-Review/Meta-Analysis?
Collects allprevious studies on the topic and statistically controls their results.
What is Experimental Bias?
The researcher’s preference or expectations influence the outcome of the research. The researcher sees what they want to see.
What is Response Bias?
The more educated the person is, the more likely they are to provide answers(correct answers) than the less educated or less informed participant.
What is Sampling Bias?
The population that the research wants to draw conclusions about is not correctly represented.
What is Selection Bias?
Caused by non-random sampling.
What is Subject Bias?
When the people in the study know whether or not they are in the “treatment” group or the “controlled” group.

People from different departments within a company

People from the same department within a company.

People from different professional fields or disciplines.

Doctors, nurses, PT, and social workers collaborating for the best patient care.
What is Intradisciplinary?
People from the same professional field working together, even if they are in different departments.
Example of Intradisciplinary?
Cardiologists, Oncologists, and Neurologists(all working together at work to complete the operation)
What are Work Teams?
Group of employees who collaborate to complete specific tasks.
Example of Work Teams
Surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, surgical techs, and scrub nurses(all working together at work to complete the operation.)
What are Project Teams?
People meet for a specific period of time and disband when their project has been completed.
Example of Project Teams
A group project during the semester.
