officer varies his/her patrol pattern and becomes unpredictable. If you become predictable criminals will know your routine
what is direct deterrent patrol?
officer utilizes crime analysis numbers gathered through information from community police programs, merchants, residents, and community leaders. Based on crime analysis an officer may take their calls from a specific location to bring down a trend in break and entering in that area.

strict adherence to the law is emphasized. Officers are expected to exercise little discretion and follow letter of the law
what is service style of policing
takes all call seriously and usually doesn’t impose formal sanctions. officer will intervene but does so in an informal manner
