Confirming Incident Details

Signal One Duress
1. Immediately acknowledge 2. Document exact location and details of events 3. Immediately notify QPS via ICEMS as “urgent”, follow with a phone call, immediately notify the OCS and/or CDS. 4. Dispatch any clinical assistance or backup if required and direct to stage 5. Liaise with OCS and provide QPS ETA and staging points 6. Immediately advise QPS for any updates

Situations Involving Violence and Crew Safety
1. Ensure all scene safety info is relayed to the assigned resources 2. Notify the OCS and/or CDS for incidents that may need OS notification/activation 3. If there is a clear risk of violence the attending unit/s should be directed to “stage” 4. Confirm that an ICEMS job has been generated for QPS and/or direct phone call for ETA 5. Acknowledge all “Signal One” activations

Termination of an Incident When Unable to Locate a Patient
1. Confirm incident location and details with the paramedics on scene 2. Confirm incident location on CAD map 3. Notify the OCS and/or CDS 4. Record Sitrep details accurately 5. Action all ICEMS notifications 6. Select the correct “Cancellation Reason and Disposition” if approved to cancel

QAS Vehicle Breakdowns
1. Current status and location of vehicle 2. Depending on the vehicle status, reassign any incident/s 3. Record all relevant details regarding the vehicle breakdown and reassignment in “Comments” 4. Place the broken down vehicle in “Out of Service“ status in CAD 5. Notify the OCS and/or CDS 6. Arrange for an incident call back if required
