He took Brother Hackett out of a Stake Priesthood meeting just before it began while he, Elder Bednar was the Stake President. He took Brother Hackett outside the room, and told him that he thought they should go see their boys play basketball that night. They, (the boys) were on opposing teams, but Elder Bednar and Brother Hackett easily overcame that and showed up to the game to surprise their sons. What they didn’t know, was that this was the last time the young Hackett boy would play ball as he was killed tragically in a car accident just over a week later.
