Glomerulonephritis

A

inflammation that’s occuring and obstructing the glomerulus (auto-immune reaction specific to kidneys)

  1. Inflammation caused by group A strep
  2. Increase in plasma volume
  3. Occurs 1-3 weeks after strep infection
  4. urine is cloudy, smoky, brown, decreased
  5. Patient is pale, poor appetite
  6. Observe symptoms, urine specific, blood test, chest x-ray

  2. Periorbital edema
  3. Generalized swelling
  4. Can present as secondary infection to strep

  3. Monitor BUN, Cr, K levels
