Exam 4 - Stahelin Influenza virus (study) Flashcards
(5 cards)
Describe the influenza virus life cycle. Which steps are inhibited by anti-flu drugs?
Virus buds out to release virion which allows continued viral replication. Neuraminidase cleaves the virion from the receptor allowing this action. NA inhibitor drugs block this step, preventing further virion release and viral replication.
