Standing committee is a permanent committee established to handle legislation in a certain field. Conference committee negotiates differences on similar pieces of legislation passed by the House and the Senate.
Briefly explain how a bill becomes a law.
A bill must pass by two-thirds majority in both the House of Reps and the Senate.
If the Governor vetoes a bill, what has to happen to override the veto making it a law?
The Texas House and Texas Senate must override the veto by two-thirds vote.
