Self-medication is permitted only in accordance with the over-the-counter medical aeromedical policy letter (APL).

A

General, spinal, or epidural — 48 hours.

Local or regional — 12 hours.

Blood or Plasma Donation

Blood donation (greater than 200 cc) — 72 hours.
Plasma donation — 24 hours.
(Cannot donate more than twice yearly.)

A

Adverse reaction must be cleared by flight surgeon.

No high altitude duties for 24 hours following > 25,000’ decompression experience.

Diving or Hyperbaric Exposure

A

24 hours after SCUBA diving, compressed air dives, or hyperbaric chamber exposures.
