What is the difference between bottom-up processing and top-down processing?
A
Bottom-up is where you use smaller features to build up to a complete perception. Whereas top-down processing is where you use pre-existing knowledge to organize individual features into a whole.

The tendency to perceive things a certain way because prior experience or expectations influence those perceptions. (also known as perceptual expectancy)
