Q

Cosine Law

A

Cosine law is a way of finding a missing angle or side in a triangle when you have three pieces of information and need to find the fourth, where one of those is an angle and the other three are side lengths.

Q

What are all the formulae that we can use only with right triangles?

A
  • Find sides using Pythagorean Theorem (a^2+b^2=c^2)
  • Basic Trig Ratios:
    Sine = opposite/hypotenuse
    Cosine = adjacent/hypotenuse
    Tangent=opposite/adjacent
    We can find missing sides and/or missing angles in right triangles using these ratios.
