Eysencks criminal personality theory

A
  • Hans eysenck (1947) argues criminality arises from our personality traits
  • designed a personality questionnaire -
    Measures levels of extroversion and neuroticism and provides a score for each type
    Research
  • researched into the personalities of 700 servicemen
  • each serviceman completed a questionnaire by themselves, Eysencks processed the results to see what is considered the normal range
  • created a scale of neuroticism/stability and extroversion/introversion
    Limitations
  • relies on self report so its not reliable
