Levator palpebrae superioris

A
  • Elevates the superior eyelid
  • Innervated by the oculomotor nerve
  • Originates from the lesser wing of the solenoid and attaches to the tarsal plate of the eyelid
  • Small part of this muscle contains smooth muscle fibres that are innervated by the sympathetic nervous system
